Explore Colorado · Local Lens

Show Colorado through your lens.

Local Lens features photographers who hike, drive, work, and live across Colorado. Submit your work for editorial features, photographer spotlights, and potential paid product use.

We are building a more local and accurate visual record of Colorado: the trail in shoulder season, the small-town main street before the crowds arrive, the working landscape, and the places people miss when every image comes from the same overlook.

Know the terms before applying

You retain ownership. The Local Lens agreement uses a non-exclusive license, so contributors may continue using and licensing their work elsewhere.

Accepted uses are broad and continuing. The agreement is designed to cover editorial use, email and social promotion, and—when separately selected—physical products and future editions.

Editorial and product models differ. Editorial features may be based on credit and a portfolio link. Images accepted for a product use a separately identified one-time flat fee.

You must control the rights. Contributors confirm they own or control the submitted work and have any required releases or permissions.

Photographer application
