What I’d tell a friend before they go.
Fort Collins means more to me than a weekend destination. It became part of my story when I earned my MBA from Colorado State University.
My CSU Story
The campus still feels like possibility.
I graduated with my MBA from Colorado State University, so Fort Collins is more than a place I have visited. The campus holds real memories for me.
The green lawns, mature canopy trees, and energy around campus make it feel alive. Like most strong university communities, there is a sense of spirit—but CSU also carries Colorado’s agricultural and Western heritage in a way that feels distinctly local.
Western tradition is still part of campus life.
The rodeo is a reminder that CSU is not only about classrooms, research, and game days. Agriculture, horses, ranching, and Western sport remain part of the university’s identity.
Do more than pass through downtown.
Leave time to walk, browse, try a local establishment, and check the event calendar. Fort Collins is at its best when something unexpected is happening in the streets or public spaces.
The canyon changes the day.
It does not take long to leave campus and city streets behind. Once you follow the Cache la Poudre River into the canyon, the region becomes quieter, steeper, and much more remote.
Considering Living Here

Fort Collins attracts visitors who can picture staying. A practical relocation review should compare transportation, employment, university influence, utilities, services, housing supply, wildfire exposure, insurance, and access to recreation.
